Description

The Skatepark has a nice big 20 ft panel on the front and back to piece on, and the best thing is the whole skatepark is legal there is even signs saying so! From Bexhill station just ask directions , people will tell you as it's a good 10-15 minute walk, but it's worth the wait! NO hassles -no fuss , just piece and chill people..........

good place to paint, but don't expect your peice to last too long. These walls are painted on a regular basis by the local heads.

Great in a sun and a beef/aggy free spot.

The wind can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes though.

This is a very rare occurance indeed. Graffiti Artists need more places like this to practice their technique , often unique styles.

I recently went to Bexhill after a Heads up about the legal surface.

Unfortunately I did'nt have any tins , it was too cold say +3.0oc and Galley Hill has always been know for it's wind.

Bexhill is an old haunt of mine , I spent some of my time growing up there knowing the area between the the late 70's and Mid 90's.

Always remember being on the beach with me old man with special nets as a boy. The famous bexhill shrimps.

Yes Shrimping !

Also I remember before it's updating the origional corrugated shack that used to sell Bucket and Spade , Windflower and nets alike , that used to stand on the site of the newly rebuilt cafe on the Beach at Glyne Gap. From the top of Galley Hill in White , you could see the word TEAS on top of the roof.

So if I ever do a piece there , I allready know what it's going to be.

Coastal erosion of the soft Lower Cretaceous ( Hastings Beds ) cliffs at Glyne Gap appear to have been halted or slowed after what looks like a second application of giant boulders in the recent past.

I remember the large ships the first time round as the dropped carboniferous limestone boulders off. The Dog tooth Calcite in the cavities within these boulders at the time were quite interesting , and I loved rock hopping over all them first lot of boulders.

Must have been early to mid 90's

The dark green clay that was exposed in the past low down in the the worst affected area's below the cliffs has almost but dissapeared now.

The place where I once gathered slate thin sheets of sandstone containing Fossil Ostracods has all but been buried under thousand of tonnes of flint beach pebbles.

I was unable to find the Submerged Pliesteocene fossil forest , it's hazlenuts and the Amsterdam ship wreck. Maybe they had to be sacrificed and buried to save the cliffs from further Coastal erosion . Or maybe I just did'nt walk along the beach far enough towards St Leonards ( 74E )

Bexhill has changed and yet it has'nt too. nice to see the glass windows on the ramps up and down platforms have been replaced , Semaphore railway signaling still in situ.

Pissd Logie Baird's house if thats spelt right , his old Edwardian home has been demolished and replaced by a hideous block or two.

De Le warr Pavillion has seen some regeneration and ongoing. The Art Deco features are interesting , but the building needs more of interest inside to keep people from walking strait in and out again , after taking a few ( Peoples Palace ) modernist pics.
